Client Avaya is a global leader in communication systems, applications, and services for enterprises.
Product Avaya Voice Player is a component in multiple Avaya messaging solutions, including the Avaya Modular Messaging platform. Avaya Voice Player provides the ability to record and play back messages, greetings, and other audio data from the messaging platform.
Project Magpie internationalized the existing Windows application to make it usable by customers worldwide. We retrofitted the Windows GUI application software to employ multi-byte character sets throughout the application's user interface, including Unicode.
We also updated packaging and installation software to allow installation in a wide variety of languages. Using Agile practices, Magpie added the ability to launch the application in either a default language or one specified by the calling application, improving the integration with other components of the messaging platform.
Magpie worked directly with various Avaya vendors to resolve technical issues, freeing Avaya's time and resources.
Outcome The project was delivered on the committed schedule. It is included in the Avaya Modular Messaging Release 3.
