ExtremeXOS®, a network operating system provides cost and energy saving tools, such as Universal Port, that allows the network administrator to automate common tasks. Universal Port is a layer of intelligence that results in time and cost savings by discovering, provisioning and authenticating users and services to devices such as IP phones, cameras, motion detectors and card badge readers.

Project

Virtual Demo Board

To assist their Channel and Sales teams in getting the message out regarding the cost-saving benefits of ExtremeXOS software and Universal Port, Extreme wanted a modernized presentation solution. It would have to be visually engaging, easy to setup, and customizable for different types of customers.

To meet these requirements, Extreme Networks engaged Magpie, a trusted software development partner, to develop a Virtual Demo Board -- an animated, interactive, laptop-hosted application.

Outcome

With the Virtual Demo Board, Extreme Networks’ national sales teams and its Reseller community can now demonstrate the possible uses and value of the powerful Extreme Networks web service API and its Widget toolsets.  It showcases how network-related business intelligence on the Ethernet switch can automate policies for resource management in a building or across a campus, provisioning, building and network security.
