Local
Every year Magpie helps to make Christmas special for Colorado's children who are living in poverty. By donating time to Chuck's Kids by helping wrap gifts for Denver children, it is just a small way that Magpie can give back to the community. Chuck's Kids is a not for profit group whose only purpose is to bring Christmas cheer to needy kids. A team of about 300 volunteers will deliver around 13,000 gifts and 1,400 boxes of groceries to Denver area families every year.
We also believe in supporting fellow women in high tech. As founders of the Colorado's women's networking organization call, Coolest Women We Know, Margaret Burd, Magpie CEO and Wendy Bohling, SVP of Magpie Healthcare have expanded the goal of the group to keep young girls engaged in math and sciences. This group is committed to fulfilling it's mission through:
- Information/Experience Sharing and Networking Events
- Support and Mentoring Programs
- Thought Leadership Initiatives
- Awards and Recognition
- Awareness Campaigns
- Membership and Sponsorship Programs
National
We believe in giving back to the community around us. As active participants in the MS-150 bike tour to benefit the National Muscular Sclerosis Society, we have raised thousands to benefit the research and development to help fight this disease.
International
We believe in helping those most in need. Through 100% matching of our employee's contributions to Global Greengrants, we have done our small part to help solve the problems of poverty, powerlessness and environmental destruction. To learn more about this excellent program, please visit the Global Greengrants website.
Another great program that helps the world's people who are most in need is Heifer International. Heifer has developed a set of global initiatives – areas of emphasis that must be addressed if they are to meet their mission of ending world hunger and poverty and caring for the earth. In 2007, Magpie donated $1000 to this wonderful organization.
