Product Magpie researched and developed a scalable automated user interface testing framework for McData's Enterprise Fabric Connectivity Management (EFCM). This allowed McData to ensure the highest product quality from release to release of EFCM, ensuring customers a smooth and problem-free transition as they upgrade their storage networks.
Project Magpie worked with McData to find an automated user interface test tool that would be capable of testing the visually complex EFCM user interface. Next, we developed a highly scalable framework based on the capabilities of the chosen tool. The framework Magpie designed allowed McData to create and manage a large library of stored tests.
In order to track test performance and results, Magpie integrated the new test management framework with a pre-existing test management tool at McData.
Realizing that McData would like to continue extending the new framework once Magpie had completed the contract, Magpie worked closely with the developers in the test organization to transfer knowledge and understanding to enable the continued evolution of the framework.
Magpie's expertise in the are of testing and integration combined with a strong relationship with McData allowed the development of this highly customized application to support development of one of McData's flagship products.
Outcome McData was extremely pleased with the foundation provided by this automation framework deliverable.
